September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month! At Love Your Melon, we’re dedicated to the fight against pediatric cancer 24/7, 365 days a year, but PCAM is a wonderful time to spread awareness, garner support, and celebrate the cause that is closest to our hearts. This year, Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month coincides with our 10-year anniversary, so we knew we needed to celebrate in the biggest way we could: a full month of new products, pledges, partnerships, and events that make a difference in the lives of children and families battling cancer!
Here’s what’s in store…
The Gold Foil Release
The Gold Foil Release honors the official ribbon color of Childhood Cancer. These cozy beanies come in ultra-wearable neutral colors and are accented with beautiful gold stitching and a metallic gold foiled logo. They’re an easy and stylish way to show support in your everyday life! As always, fifty percent of net profit from all sales will go to non-profit organizations supporting children and families battling cancer.
St.Jude x Love Your Melon Release
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a symbol of hope in the fight against pediatric cancer. The St. Jude x LYM Collection helps support that fight — monetarily through our giving initiatives, and by raising awareness with everyday wear! This slouchy beanie style features a simple St. Jude logo, and is the perfect way to warm your head and your heart.
Smile Sessions
Throughout September, Love Your Melon will be visiting hospitals in person to provide Smile Sessions! Smile Sessions bring once-in-a-lifetime experiences directly to kids battling cancer. Celebrity visits, performances, beanie donations, and activities bring a whole lot of joy right where it’s needed most. We will continue to share updates via our social media channels as these incredible events happen!
Giving
10 years of Love Your Melon, 10 million dollars. We are pledging to donate a total of $10 million and 250,000 beanies by the end of 2022. This will include 5,000 beanies donated to children battling cancer during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month alone. We couldn’t be prouder to set this ambitious and important goal.
Game Nights
Love Your Melon will be hosting Game Nights with the Seattle Mariners on September 9th, and the Minnesota Twins on September 27th. Each team has donated tickets and suites to local families battling cancer. At each event, kids and their families will enjoy the game and have the opportunity to participate in once-in-a-lifetime experiences like throwing the first pitch! Each team has also planned visits to hospitals in their local community, where players and mascots will hand out Love Your Melon beanies to kids going through cancer treatment.
