Meet Sophia! This six-year-old hero was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia in June of 2017. She has endured months of treatment, but she hasn’t let it hinder her fun, spunky spirit. Our Campus Crew at the University of Central Florida recently had the opportunity to give Sophia a surprise adventure filled with her favorite things.
Sophia loves pink, purple and animals, especially unicorns! Sophia’s surprise adventure started out with a trip to the zoo, where she got to see animals, pet an Indian Rhino and even feed goats and a giraffe! She wore a crown on top of her beanie, which made her feel like a princess as she explored the zoo.
After the zoo trip, the Crew Members surprised Sophia with a toy she has always wanted: a Barbie dream house! She was so excited and began playing with it right away. She also got to enjoy some of her favorite things, including a purple and pink unicorn cake, a purple and pink hat, a huge stuffed unicorn and dolls for her new dream house.
“Today was the best surprise ever!” Sophia told the Crew with a huge smile. It’s an honor to give Sophia a “best day ever” in the midst of doctor’s appointments and treatments.
