ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation has evolved into a national fundraising movement with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope.
Over the course of six years, Love Your Melon has supported Alex's Lemonade Stand with $670,000. Our funding has directly supported programs like their Young Investigator Program and 12 POST grants, the Childhood Cancer Data Lab (CCDL), which collects all childhood cancer data into one database for easier access for researchers across the world, and the Clinical Trials Navigation Program, which helps initiate a detailed trial search and determine baseline eligibility to discuss with families.
At the end of 2020 and 2021, we gifted Alex's Lemonade Stand with $200,000 to support the Crazy 8 Initiative, a program dedicated to detailing the roadmaps to cures for high-risk childhood cancers using the eight key areas of need identified by 90 top scientists and researchers around the world.
