A full season of LYM Game Nights is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to spread awareness for pediatric cancer, provide exclusive beanies to sports fans and create memorable experiences for children battling cancer all over the country!
We’re kicking off the season with a number of exciting events, including our recent Game Night at a Pittsburgh Pirates game. The event provided a fun night for children and families battling cancer as well as exclusive hats for Pirates fans, but perhaps the most special part of the partnership was the hospital visit with some of the Pirates athletes.
The team wanted to do more than just wear their co-branded hats, so they got involved by visiting some amazing children at their local hospital to brighten their days with beanies, smiles and encouragement.
Having a professional baseball player (and mascot!) visit made these children light up with joy! They got to high-five Pittsburgh’s mascot, Pirate Parrot, meet the players, receive their own special Pirates beanie and take pictures with the team. It was such a special time seeing the athletes get involved in the cause and connect with children battling cancer.
LYM Game Nights and hospital visits like this one happen all around the country. This year, we’re gearing up for 34 Game Nights in partnership with the MLB, MLS, NBA and NHL. Each Game Night will have its own custom Love Your Melon co-branded beanie available exclusively through the team website. We will be bringing families and children battling cancer to each event so children are able to participate with in-game activities.
