With your support, we are able to partner with incredible organizations who are leading the fight against pediatric cancer and supporting superheroes all around the country. One Summit is an amazing organization which empowers children battling cancer to build self-confidence, resilience and courage. Through the Climb for Courage program and mentorship with a Navy SEAL, children face and overcome different challenges and learn to apply resilience to their childhood cancer journey.
Here’s one story of an incredible Climb for Courage kid!
Emma received the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age seven. She and her family were devastated that Emma was fighting the same difficult battle that her mother had survived as a child.
In search of opportunities to help their little girl face this overwhelming disease, Emma’s family discovered One Summit. Emma attended One Summit’s Climb for Courage and formed an unbreakable bond with her Navy SEAL mentor, Jarrett!
After she completed the climbing challenge, Emma said, “My Navy SEAL encouraged me to go higher and work harder. It felt really good because accomplishing your goals makes you happy!”
Emma learned that she is strong, resilient and able to persevere in the face of adversity - lessons that she can now apply to her battle with pediatric cancer.
