Love Your Melon is partnering with The Max Cure Foundation’s Roar Beyond Barriers Program to support families as they endure the difficulties of pediatric cancer treatment. This support helps ten families with basic necessities, emergency funds and simply to communicate that they are not fighting alone.
We are happy to introduce you to one Roar Beyond Barriers superhero, Braeden. Braeden is an outgoing 9-year-old who loves swimming, sports, American Ninja Warrior and playing with his friends! He was diagnosed with cancer when he was only five years old. He endured 15 months of treatment and was in remission before he relapsed this past November.
With five children in the family, treatment is difficult on Braeden’s family both financially and emotionally. On top of that, Braeden’s mother had to leave her full time job to concentrate on his treatment. Because of the Roar Beyond Barriers Program, they receive financial assistance each month for groceries and other basic necessities!
Braeden is such a superhero - he endures weekly chemotherapy treatments but he and his family are living each day to the fullest!
Braeden’s mother shared some encouragement for other families battling pediatric cancer: “Some days will be harder and more trying than others, but remember that having a positive attitude will get you through these days. Always remember that no one fights alone!”
