This October, Love Your Melon and Scheels partnered together to brighten the days of five families with children battling pediatric cancer. Each family was presented with a $2000 Scheels gift card each for an unforgettable shopping experience.
One of those children is 4-year-old Emma Basting who spent 16 months in treatment at the University of Masonic Children’s Hospital for High Risk Neuroblastoma. Emma loves stickers, princesses, and shopping. “She wants to be moving all the time. She loves to be in her wheelchair cruising around. Shopping is one of her favorite things to do,” says Emma’s father, Aaron Basting.
Sporting goods store Scheels is a long-time retail partner of Love Your Melon. “This is truly is a partnership effort. Scheels has been a loyal retailer of ours since 2017 and we are excited to be able to assist these families during a difficult time,” said Julie Kruse, Wholesale Director at Love Your Melon.
Logan Falk, 13, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 21, 2017. He was joined at the Fargo Scheels by his parents and his 7 siblings, who said they all love him very much for his strength, wit and selflessness. Logan has been incredibly courageous throughout his battle and is taking it day by day.
