CHOC CHILDREN'S
Since 1964, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) has been committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children.
At the end of 2020, we gifted $25,000 to the CHOC to support their program: Making Virtual Reality a Reality for Children and Families Fighting Cancer, which aims to increase access to therapeutic Virtual Reality (VR) interventions for children and families receiving cancer treatment at CHOC. VR technology has the ability to transport a patient from the confinement of their bed, help alleviate their mood during a chemotherapy session, as well as lift a child’s spirits throughout the journey of battling cancer. The goal of this program is to build a curated library of VR experiences that will provide pediatric cancer patients with access to cutting edge VR technology that helps to improve patient health outcomes, including reducing pain, anxiety, and depression while enhancing quality of life.
