Dana Farber Cancer Institute
Dana Farber Cancer Institute provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. As an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, the Institute also provides training for new generations of physicians and scientists, designs programs that promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations, and disseminates innovative patient therapies and scientific discoveries to our target community across the United States and throughout the world.
Since 2014, Love Your Melon Superheroes have been visiting Dana-Farber to provide beanies and smiles to children battling cancer. In 2017, we worked with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to give $50,000 to go to two programs that will continue to grow the impact we are currently having in the lives of pediatric patients. $30,000 went to the Barr Program, which provides critical funding needed to explore new avenues of basic pediatric cancer research. Additionally, $20,000 went towards the creation of the "A Day At The Beach" Mural, which is located within Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic. Together, we have worked to create a warm and inviting space for children staying at the hospital.
